Letter to the Minister for the Constitution and Devolution

An EMB/Electoral Registration Committee of the SAA joint letter to the Minister for the Constitution and Devolution raising concerns that the UK General Election timetable could be shortened.

This is a joint letter from the Electoral Management Board for Scotland (EMB) and the Electoral Registration Committee of the Scottish Assessors Association to the Minister for the Constitution and Devolution, Chloe Smith MP.   The letter is prompted by the proposal from the Joint Committee on the Fixed Term Parliaments Act to shorten the electoral timetable for UK Parliamentary General Elections.

It  makes reference to a similar letter submitted by the Associaiton of Electoral Administrators and SOLACE raising similar concerns.    The AEA/SOLACE letter is available here: Open letter from the Association of Electoral Administrators and the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives
