Jim Doig appointed as new member of the EMB

Jim Doig, the Assessor and ERO for Dumfries and Galloway, has been appointed as a new member of the Electoral Management Board for Scotland

12 July 2021 Jim Doig, ERO for Dumfries and Galloway has been appointed as a member of the Electoral Management Board or Scotland.  His appointment follows the retirmet of Ian Milton, former ERO for Grampian, who had served as a member of the EMB for several years.  In addition to the Convener the Board consists of five Returning Officers and three Electoral Registraton Officers.  

Jim qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1995 and after 6 years in private practice in North West England, joined the Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer for Dumfries & Galloway. He was appointed Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer in 2016.

He is a member of the Association of Electoral Administrators and holds the Certificate in Electoral Administration from the Association of Electoral Administrators. Jim has been a member of the Scottish Assessors Association since 2008 and is currently the secretary of the SAA's Electoral Registration Committee, having held the position since 2012.
